Candy AI and OurDream AI facing off around a large VS in pink and purple
Rate this post

Candy AI gets my vote for regular text chat at the lower published US subscription price. OurDream AI is worth a closer look if you want to build characters and use pictures, calls and video, with a more detailed public credit menu. Both can become more expensive once media enters the picture. The subscription price is only the beginning of the decision.

My preference is to try the free access first, then pay for one month on the service that fits the way you actually want to use it.

This comparison uses the plans, features and policies the two services publish, alongside their visible purchase options. It separates what your payment unlocks from the extras that use credits.

Candy.ai vs OurDream.ai at a glance

What matters to you Candy AI OurDream AI
Standard paid text chat Unlimited messages with Premium Regular subscriber chat uses no DreamCoins
Included monthly credits 100 tokens with Premium 1,000 DreamCoins with Standard
Media and calls Images, video and voice features use tokens Images, video and calls use DreamCoins at model-dependent rates
Free starting point Five messages in total, one character and one image A 55-DreamCoin starter trial is advertised, with limits to check in your account
Character tools Realistic and anime styles with guided appearance choices Realistic and anime styles, personality, voice and relationship settings
Best question before paying What does this checkout charge now and at renewal? How many coins will my preferred features use?

Those credit balances are different currencies. A thousand DreamCoins do not automatically buy ten times as much as a hundred Candy tokens. The cost of each action decides that.

The price you pay today matters more than the monthly equivalent

Entry-level subscription Candy AI OurDream AI
Monthly billing $13.99 each month $19.99 each month
Annual billing $47.88 upfront, equivalent to $3.99 a month $119.88 upfront, equivalent to $9.99 a month

These are the published US dollar prices. Candy also lists $26.97 for three months, equivalent to $8.99 monthly. Candy says plans renew at the same price and term, and taxes may apply. Promotions, currency and offers can vary at checkout.

Annual prices are paid in full at purchase. The small monthly equivalent is useful for comparison, but it is not the amount charged today.

OurDream’s monthly plan includes 1,000 DreamCoins immediately, followed by 1,000 each month. The annual plan starts with 2,000, including a 1,000-coin bonus, then provides 1,000 each month.

Candy Premium includes 100 tokens monthly. Paying annually does not put 1,200 tokens into your account on day one. Candy also documents a Premium Plus tier with 330 tokens monthly, so compare the exact tier on the payment screen.

My spending ruleCheck the amount charged today, the renewal amount and the included monthly credits before paying. If the first month has a discount, use the renewal price when judging what you can afford long term.

Pictures and calls change the calculation

Unlimited text chat does not mean unlimited images, video or calls. Candy uses tokens for these extras. Its publicly available information does not give us a dependable current rate for every action, so check the token charge shown for the feature you want.

OurDream gives you more numbers to work with. Its help guide lists 10 DreamCoins for two Standard images, five for an image requested in chat, and 50 per minute of voice calls. Some narration voices cost nothing extra, while premium narration uses five coins per paragraph.

Video needs an extra glance at the selected model. The guide lists 100 coins for five seconds of Standard video, while the newer Prime announcement lists a 10-coin price. Those figures describe different options, so they should not be treated as equivalent clips.

Here is a useful budget example. At the documented Standard rates, 40 images cost 200 coins and ten minutes of calls cost 500. Together they use 700 of a 1,000-coin monthly allocation, before video, character creation or other extras.

That is why I would choose by usage before choosing by subscription price. Mostly typing means the recurring fee carries more weight. Frequent calls and generations make the credit menu just as important. OurDream requires an active subscription to buy additional DreamCoins.

Use the trial to answer a real question

Candy’s free allowance is small. Its help center lists five messages in total, one character and one image. That can show you how the service works, but it is too little to settle questions about long conversations or consistency over time.

OurDream advertises 55 starter DreamCoins as a one-time trial. Its public pages differ on the exact free actions available, so the allowance and locked features shown in your account deserve the final check. Treat it as a sample of the service, not an ongoing monthly allowance.

Give each trial the same simple task. Ask for a conversation in the tone you like, explore the character controls, and inspect the price of one media action. You will learn more from that than from comparing two promotional galleries.

How much of the character do you want to shape?

OurDream’s appeal on paper is the room it gives you to define a character. You can choose a realistic or anime style, adjust appearance, set a personality, pick a voice and define the relationship. Its documentation also covers group conversations and manually edited memories.

That makes it worth investigating if building the character is part of the fun. These controls give you things to adjust. Whether the resulting conversation follows your ideas closely is something to judge in use.

Candy also offers character creation. The setup lets you choose a realistic or anime style, then ethnicity, hairstyle, hair color and eye color before account creation. If it is already the one you are leaning toward, our Candy AI review covers the platform in more detail. I would choose the controls I actually expect to use, then see how the conversation responds to them.

OurDream changes its model lineup and tests some features on selected accounts. Check that the option you want is available to you.

Privacy and cancellation belong in the decision

Both services handle personal conversations, and their privacy policies deserve more attention than an attractive character portrait. Candy describes human review and the use of de-identified data for model training. OurDream’s policy also allows information to be used to train its AI models and shared with service providers.

Encryption claims do not establish end-to-end confidentiality. I would keep real names, workplace details, financial information and private facts about other people out of these chats. You can enjoy a fictional character without supplying your full life story.

Candy’s unsubscribe option is in account settings. Paid access continues until the end of the billing period, and its help documentation says unused tokens expire. OurDream also allows cancellation through the profile, with access continuing through the paid period. Its pages conflict on what happens to unused coins afterward, so confirm that point before relying on a saved balance.

OurDream says images, videos and community packs become blurred when membership expires. Cancellation also does not automatically mean a refund. Those details matter if you expect to leave and keep accessing everything you created.

Which one would I choose for a first month?

For mostly text chat, Candy is my first pick at the published US prices. Its Premium monthly fee is $6 lower than OurDream’s. Both offer regular paid chat without a per-message credit cost, so a larger media allowance adds little value if you barely use it.

For character building, group conversations and a planned mix of images and calls, I would give OurDream a closer look. Its published costs make it easier to sketch a spending limit. Conversation and image quality still need your own trial.

If you remain undecided, start with Candy’s limited free access and compare its current monthly offer. Pay for the features you will use this month. The annual decision can wait until you know why you would stay.

Questions before choosing

Is Candy AI cheaper than OurDream AI?

At the published US entry-level subscription prices, yes. Candy lists $13.99 monthly or $47.88 upfront annually. OurDream lists $19.99 monthly or $119.88 annually. Promotions, taxes, currencies and extra media purchases can change what you actually spend.

Do both subscriptions include unlimited images?

No. Candy uses tokens and OurDream uses DreamCoins for media features. Unlimited regular text chat does not mean unlimited image generation, video or calls.

Does Candy give annual subscribers all their tokens at once?

No. Candy Premium provides 100 tokens each month, including on an annual subscription. The annual payment does not provide a single upfront allocation of 1,200 tokens.

Can I try OurDream without paying?

OurDream advertises a one-time 55-DreamCoin trial. Check the actual balance and unlocked features in your account because its public pages differ on the precise free limits.
